It is only a 5-10 minute walk to the village centre and waterfront, with bakery, supermarket, post office, bank, restaurants and tourist office. A public path runs near the property, that is enjoyed for cycling, jogging, horseback riding and walking, and meanders through a beautiful nature protection area. The beach is a 2 minute walk from the door.

In winter, the Wolfgangsee advent and Christmas market runs from Nov 18-Dec 31, Thursday to Sunday. The local customs and cultural fare are beautifully displayed with a floating peace lantern glowing over the lake. For the outdoor enthusiast in the winter months, there are a number of excellent downhill ski areas close by, and cross-country skiing trails which are accessible from the edge of the property, and also up at the Postalm nearby. On December 31st, Strobl brings in the New Year with an amazing firework display over the lake, synchronized to music, which is a memorable event!

Strobl is one of three quaint & historic villages on the shores of lake Wolfgang, which are linked by road and ferry service. There is good public transportation by bus and train for guests without a car. It is a half hour scenic drive to Salzburg, the famous city of Mozart, with its historic castle and Mirabel palace, and the home of the 'Sound of Music'.
