It is 10 minutes from the town of Ponte Tresa on Lake Lugano, where guests can jump on a ferry at the terminal and enjoy a day out on the water, to appreciate the beauty of the area. Monte Caslano (17 minutes drive) is well-known for its hiking routes with glorious lake views. An absolute must for children is a visit to the Alprose Chocolate Experience and factory shop (13 minutes).
10 minutes to the west of the property, over the Italian border, is the town of Luino on Lake Maggiore. Here you will find supermarkets and all the amenities you might need for an easy holiday. For the best local produce head to Lavena Ponte Tresa, (13 minutes) which is the Italian part of the town. Every Saturday the town hosts a large market selling everything from cheese and vegetables to leather goods, clothes and kitchen utensils
