It is also the venue of the Locarno Film Festival and many other events. The weekly market on Thursdays can’t be missed. At the edge of the Old Town, there is Castello Visconteo which dates back to the 12th century and is about 8 minutes\' drive from the apartment. Beyond enjoying the lake from the shore, guests can also take a cruise on Lake Maggiore and take day trips to other lake towns like Ascona, Stresa and Luino. The town also offers splendid opportunities for hiking and biking to the nearest mountain peaks and witness breathtaking views of nearby lake towns.
