Positive: It’s a small, charming and spotless hotel – either newly built or recently renovated (I’m not sure exactly when) – and it offers free underground parking spaces. My room was compact but perfectly adequate (especially as I was travelling alone), tastefully furnished, and impeccably clean. There are two saunas – one up to 60°C and the other up to 100°C – plus a relaxation room, two pools, and lovely views. Both pools allow children. Unfortunately, in the relaxation room and sauna you can hear children shouting. In summer, meals are served outdoors, which is pleasant for parents enjoying a child-free dinner, as the children can play outside. The guests were of mixed ages. The staff were very friendly, and the food was good. Portions are on the smaller side, which is ideal when working through a five-course menu. I never eat a sweet dessert, which was the only option offered. Thankfully, they kindly provided me with a very tasty cheese plate instead. The hotel appeared to be fully booked, or close to it, which probably explains why it was a little noisier than I’d hoped. But then again, it was right in the middle of the holiday season.

Negative: In my opinion, four-star hotels – especially in Austria, a country renowned for tourism – really shouldn’t still be using wall-mounted hairdryers. Unfortunately, this one did: it overheats quickly and then switches itself off, equally quickly. Also, there’s no steam room.
