The town and the Mariazellerland have a lot to offer: many beautiful hiking tours, skiing in the Mariazeller Bürgeralpe ski area, a small, quiet ski area with over 10 kilometers of slopes and 4 lifts, and cross-country skiing. Other offerings in the ski area include the toboggan run, the “Dreiseenblick” winter hiking trail and several touring ski routes. In summer, the Erlaufsee bathing lake in St. Sebastian, the Hubertussee, the Türnsee or the Ratzersdorfer See offer lots of bathing fun! Pilgrims are also drawn to Mariazell, as the place is one of the most important European pilgrimage sites.
