Founded in 1253 by Walser settlers from the Valais, Bosco Gurin is a picturesque village in the district of Maggia Valley, set like a gem in the Boscotal.
At 1504 meters above sea level. It is the highest village in the canton of Ticino and the only Ticino municipality where German is spoken. Its 60 inhabitants are mainly active in agriculture, but also employed in the tourist sector: Bosco Gurin is one of the canton's most popular winter sports resorts.
From an early age the Gurin learn the "Ggurijnartitsch" that they speak to each other. The connection to the Walser tradition and culture shows not only in the own language, but also in the traditional construction of the residential houses, barn, Gaden and stables. The field names also express the history of these high mountain settlers: Grossalp, Schwarza Brunna, Bann, Martschenspitz and Ritzberg, just to name a few.
There are also no special legends, such as the stories of the "Weltu", these mythical figures with their feet twisted backwards, who live in the woods around the village.
It is in this beautiful and atmospheric environment that our Rustico is located. Once a stable for animals, today it is a romantic and inviting home for leisure. A beautiful example of an architecture that is focused on the preservation of stoneware. The barn has been restored with simplicity and furnished with good taste. The entrance hall and the cloakroom are located on the ground floor and the bathroom / WC and the laundry room / storeroom.
The first and second floors are accessible by a wooden staircase. On the first floor is the Living-room with a wood-burning stove, a well-equipped kitchen and a dining area. The two attic rooms are located on the second floor.
From the living room you have access to a large terrace with a lounge. The terrace offers panoramic views of the mountains, meadows and pastures.
This is the ideal accommodation for those looking for rest and relaxation, but also for those who want to actively enjoy the mountains, for nature lovers and for hiking and during the winter months snow sports (skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoes, skins and sealskin).
The house is accessible via a road and the parking is about 10 minutes away.
Smoking is not allowed in the apartment.
Dogs are accepted on request.
