The Kleinwalsertal is Austrian territory, German economic area and it was settled 700 years ago by the Walser people from the canton of Valais in southern Switzerland.

Two mountain railways (Kanzelwand 1957 m and Walmedingerhorn 1940 m) and three gondola lifts and chair lifts (Ifen 1600 m, Heuberg 1380 m and Zaferna 1470 m) facilitate the ascent and lead to the most beautiful hiking areas. In addition to easy day hikes, mountain and climbing tours and hikes from hut to hut are also possible.
